Major RAW vs. SD! Match Scheduled For Future WWE RAW

In a promotional message sent out to WWE Mailing List subscribers, WWE confirmed an interbrand main-event for the 7/11 WWE RAW telecast. The event, which takes place at New Jersey's Continental Airlines Arena, will see Batista and John Cena take on Triple H and John Bradshaw Layfield.

The unprecedented match should help move tickets for that particular edition of RAW, which is already emanating from a very hot wrestling market.

Further Update On TNA TV Situation

As we reported earlier today, Dave Nelson decided to pull his $10 million bid to purchase TNA as he never heard back from the company. Nelson also claims TNA lost their TV deal with WGN and a potential deal with SpikeTV would not be structured in a way to benefit the company.

WGN represenatives are currently telling themedia that negotiations with TNA are ongoing, although a contract has yet to be signed. In addition to that, WGN reps claim any report implication negotiations has ended between TNA and WGN are absolutely incorrect.

SpikeTV represenatives currently decline to comment on the status of any negotiations with TNA for a television deal.

For what it's worth, sources claim the Nelson offer was never taken seriously by TNA, so the offer being pulled isn't considered such a big deal.

Major ECW PPV Update: Huge Changes, Entire Concept Different

Credit: PWInsider.com

Adding to a report broken on this website earlier in the week, PWInsider cites WWE sources who are expressing much frustration over the ECW PPV. What was originally viewed as a heavily-anticipated show has lost quite a bit of luster amongst those backstage, with some even 'dreading' the PPV.

The original idea was for the PPV to be a legitimate "ECW-style" show full of input from Tommy Dreamer and Paul Heyman. However, when the show failed to sellout in the first week of ticket availability (many blame the $400 price tag), WWE made the call to include some WWE workers and step back from the pure-ECW format. When that didn't increase buzz, WWE was forced to drop some of the ticket prices and include wrestlers from both WWE rosters in "invasion" storylines.

Much of the show will now be in the hands of the WWE creative team, which has not recently impressed those in the industry. As the PPV approaches, the show that was supposed to be a throwback to the ECW days is becoming more and more like a traditional WWE PPV.

Life On Mars Unlikely (new studies say).

"One study reveals that a region rich in the mineral olivine - which suggests it is has been "dry" for about 3 billion years....[another] study asserts that subsurface reactions of olivine and water could...account for recent observations of the gas in the atmosphere, removing the need to invoke living microbes to do the job."

Gene found to determine sexual orientation?

Looks that way. Fruit flies are a lot less complex than humans, but if this research is verified it would eliminate at least part of the debate on whether sexual orientation is determined by genetic makeup. Bets will be taken on how long it takes the ultra-Right to denounce the research but still start funding the elimination of the gene. ;)
